Attorney Rita M. Briles joined Golden Key Law Group in March 2019. After graduating from law school, Rita practiced law with a few firms as a plaintiff’s attorney until she started her own practice in Alabama. She has taught trial advocacy and social security disability law as an adjunct professor at the Birmingham School of Law. Rita also worked as a Congressional Legislative and Research Assistant and a lobbyist in Washington, D.C. Her legal background includes expertise in family law, social security disability law, estate planning, and state and federal criminal law.

Rita M. Briles received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Rutgers University, New Brunswick, N.J., and her Juris Doctorate degree from the Birmingham School of Law, Birmingham, AL. She is licensed to practice law in Alabama, Maryland, and Florida. She is also admitted to practice in the federal courts in the Northern and Middle Districts of Alabama and the Middle District of Florida. She is a member of the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.

She also serves as an Allied Attorney for Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) and was a former member of the Criminal Justice Act Panel (CJA Panel) serving as a federal attorney in the Northern District of Alabama for over 25 years.

She currently resides in Largo, Florida. Rita is the mother of two adult children and a proud grandmother. When she is not working to advocate for her clients, Rita enjoys public speaking, jogging, gardening, and serving in her community through her local church.
